Who is the City's solid waste service provider?
Waste Management was selected by the City as the solid waste service provider for all Issaquah residents, businesses and multi-family properties. The new service began July 1, 2005. Rabanco (Allied Waste) continues to provide collection services in portions of the City that were annexed in the last seven years. These include the Providence Point, North Issaquah, Overdale Park and East Lake Sammamish areas which were annexed in 2000 and 2003. City map showing service areas
Can I choose a different recycling provider?
While commercial garbage collection is governed by the City's contract, commercial recycling service is deregulated. This means that businesses may choose any company to provide recycling service for their location. However, with the City's new contract with Waste Management, recycling services for businesses are now included as a part of the basic garbage collection fees at no additional charge. Rates
If you elect to have Waste Management collect your recyclables, you may be able to reduce your total overall solid waste fees. If you choose another service provider, additional fees for recycling collection services may apply. Your situation will vary depending upon your service level and arrangements with recycling providers. Businesses are encouraged to review garbage fees plus recycling costs from different companies before choosing their recycling service provider.
How do I change my recycling service?
If you wish to switch recycling service providers:
1. Contact your new service provider to order new container(s)
2. Contact your current service provider to cancel service and remove existing recycling container(s)
