Apartments and Condominiums - Recycling Service

Waste Management provides tailored recycling service for all sizes of apartment and condominium complexes. You can request a recycling specialist to help you:
  • Identify a resident Recycling Champion
  • Find suitable locations for your recycling containers.
  • Establish your recycling collection schedule.
  • Educate residents on recycling procedures.
  • Distribute free recycling guidelines and/or posters.
  • Update container labeling.

And it’s convenient! - Waste Management collects recyclables together and sorts them at the recycling plant , making it more convenient for residents to recycle.

Promote Recycling Success!
  • Resident Recycling Champions increase recycling success. We encourage you to identify a resident as a “Recycling Champion” to distribute guidelines, monitor recycling containers, and answer recycling questions.

  • Recycling promotion memo. You can customize, copy and distribute a recycling promotion memo to new and existing residents to encourage them to recycle. Please note that there is a blank where you can insert the name of your resident “friend of recycling.”

  • Recycling guidelines (8 1/2" x 11")

Important!

Empty clean recyclables out of bags and boxes and put them loose in your cart so that they can be easily identified and sorted at the recycling center. Clean paper bags and cardboard boxes are recyclable. Just put them in your cart after you empty them. Recyclables in bags may be mistaken for garbage at the sorting center.

NO plastic bags in recycling. (Reuse or recycle at grocery stores) - Plastic Recycling Yes & No

NO shredded paper in recycling. Paper mills don't want shredded paper and shredded paper is difficult to sort from other recyclables. More

No caps or lids on bottles. Caps and lids are not recyclable and contaminate other recyclables at the sorting center. More

Some recycling dos & don'ts

Combined bottles, cans, paper and cardboard collected from residences and businesses, as well as debris from construction and demolition projects are sorted at Waste Management's Cascade Recycling Center in Woodinville. The center employs advanced technologies from the US and Europe, and ships the sorted commodities to domestic and Pacific Rim markets for use in new products.
