Approximately ninety percent (90%) of the material collected from Puget Sound businesses comes from garbage containers-only ten percent (10%) comes from recycling containers. On the other hand, only 45% of the material from residences is garbage-55% is recycling.
Commercial garbage rates in the City of Maple Valley are structured to encourage businesses to recycle. Recycling is provided at no additional cost with garbage service, which means that businesses can control garbage costs by recycling more and generating less garbage.
