Container Placement at Street
Place trash, recycling and yard debris carts:
- Two feet apart
- At least three feet from cars, trees, mailboxes, fences
- With cart wheels as close to the curb as possible
- So that the lid opening faces the street

Holidays
Christmas Day & New Year's Day:
If your collection day falls on or after Christmas or New Year's Day, collection will be one day later that week with Friday customers being serviced on Saturday. More

Food Scrap Curbside Collection Pilot
The City of Portland will test changes to the garbage and recycling collection system as part of a pilot program with 2,000 households. Selected households will soon be able to place food scraps in their green Portland Composts! roll cart along with yard debris, which will be collected every week. Garbage collection will be switched to every-other-week. The City will also be testing every-other-week recycling collection in some of the pilot households.

Computers, TVs
Not Allowed in
Oregon Garbage
Effective January 1, 2010 computers, monitors and TVs CANNOT be disposed of in the garbage or at disposal sites such as landfills, transfer stations and incinerators. Anyone who knowingly disposes of these items can be fined. More
