Holidays
Garbage and recycling are collected on all weekday holidays except Thanksgiving (4th Thursday in Nov), Dec 25, and Jan 1.
Regular collection schedule on all other holidays.

 Weather Delays
(Wind, Flooding, Snow, etc.)
If weather prevents safe collection, we announce delays on radio and TV and on our Collection Delay Bulletin Board.
Up to twice as much material, including food/yard waste, will be accepted with no extra charge on the next weekly collection day, unless otherwise posted here. (Unemptied food/yard carts should be put out for collection the next week after a weather delay, even during winter months, when service is usually every other week. The regular food/yard collection schedule will resume the following week.)

Commercial Food Waste Collection

Today one of our SW drivers, Mark Ohlhauser, went above and beyond for many of our customers in Redmond. This morning all of the carts on 132nd Ave NE from about 85th to 100th St. were knocked over on the ground and there was spilled trash at every stop.

Where Do Recyclables Go?
Combined bottles, cans, paper and cardboard collected from residences and businesses, as well as debris from construction and demolition projects are sorted at Waste Management's Cascade Recycling Center in Woodinville, the largest recycling facility of its kind on the West Coast. The center employs the most advanced sorting technologies from the US and Europe, and ships the sorted commodities to both domestic and Asian markets for use in new products.
