Curbside Garbage

WM carts are required for all collection to make service safer and more efficient.

To ensure service, Place carts at the curb by 6 AM on your collection day.

Please remove all containers from the street as soon as possible after collection.


Container Placement


  • Three (3) feet apart with lid opening toward street.

  • At least three (3) feet from cars, trees, mailboxes, fences and utility boxes. Place recycling bins to the side of your trash cart so the bins are not blocking the cart.

  • Please always keep the sidewalks clear and place containers in the street as close to the curb as possible.

    • When possible, trucks with robotic arms will lift, empty and replace the carts without the drivers leaving the trucks, reducing safety hazards and traffic congestion.


    Collection Guidelines


    Weight Limits (Overweight containers will not be emptied)
    • The limit for a 35-gallon container is 60 pounds.
    • The limit for a 64-gallon container is 120 pounds.
    • The limit for a 96-gallon container is 180 pounds.
    • The limit for a personal can is 55 pounds.
    • The limit for extra garbage is 55 pounds.

    Extra Garbage


    There is an an additional charge for each extra bag or container (32-gallon, 65 lb. limit) that doesn't fit in your garbage container with the lid closed. If you often have extra garbage, you may want to increase your garbage container size to avoid overflow and extra garbage charges.

    Household Hazardous Waste Tips

    For latex and water based paint, you can open the can to let it dry out, or add solidifying agents such as sawdust or kitty litter to speed up the drying. Once fully dry, you can dispose of the cans in your garbage. For spray paint, you can spray the paint on a piece of cardboard. Once the can is empty, the can and painted cardboard can then be disposed of in your garbage.

    Bulky Items


    Bulky items like mattresses, appliances, console televisions, furniture and building materials can be picked up by special arrangement. Contact     WM Customer Service or call 877-466-4668 (M-F 7 am - 5 pm, SAT 9 am - 1 pm).

    Temporary Garbage Services


    Large containers are available for temporary projects such as remodeling and construction. Contact WM Customer Service or 877-466-4668 (M-F 7 am - 5 pm, SAT 9 am - 1 pm).
