Kentucky Fried Chicken saw significant opportunity to reduce waste by recycling. After recognizing
that much of their waste was cardboard boxes, Kentucky Fried Chicken partnered with Waste Management
to implement a recycling program last spring. The new program has allowed Kentucky Fried Chicken to
achieve a 33% recycling rate and result in an annual savings of $3,456.
'For us, adding recycling was no trouble at all. We get deliveries twice a week and everything is
packaged in cardboard. Placing cardboard in the recycling has been an easy switch for us.' Bob Loer,
Director of Operations, Kentucky Fried Chicken.
