Service day changes are coming
Some customers in Mill Creek may experience a service day change beginning the week of September 15th.
Why is Waste Management changing the service days of its customers
Over the past 10 years the region has grown and WM’s routing system needs to adjust to that growth. Our routes need to be realigned and streamlined which will allow us to provide high-quality service in the most efficient way possible. A few of the benefits include:
Efficiency
The re-alignment will condense WM’s existing routes, eliminating the need for drivers to cross town to service customers, allowing them to focus on a specific area each day.
Condensed routes are easier to follow and easier to service, causing fewer service interruptions.
Safety
This re-alignment will reduce the number of hours trucks spend on the road during peak periods making neighborhoods safer and roads less congested.
Environment
The less time our trucks spend on the road reduces carbon emissions and our overall carbon footprint.
What does this route re-alignment mean?
Some customers may see their service day change.
After we begin the reroute, in the event that customers go longer than seven days to be serviced (between their old service day and their new service day), WM will provide a courtesy collection on Saturday, September 13th.
When are the service changes?
The service changes will be initiated the week of September 15, 2025.
Collection Information
Residents have weekly collection for garbage, recycling and for subscribers yard and food waste -
year round.
WM observes three annual holidays: Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day (Dec. 25), and New Year's Day (Jan. 1). Weekday holidays will delay collection by one day for the remainder of the week. For example, if a holiday falls on a Thursday, Thursday customers will be collected on Friday and Friday customers will be collected on Saturday.
Garbage collection will not take place on Independence Day (July 4). Recycling and yard debris services will remain unchanged and occur as scheduled. All other holidays will not affect your collection schedule.
