Rates are changing in 2026
Effective January 1, 2026, customers in Snohomish County will see rates increase on their WM bills beyond what is on a usual bill.
Snohomish County has increased disposal fees at all facilities for the first time in 10+ years where WM disposes of garbage. We are required by the county to utilize their facilities for garbage disposal. This means costs for WM customers will also increase.
Residents have weekly collection for garbage and every-other-week collection for recycling.
Customers subscribing to yard / food waste receive collection weekly.
WM observes three annual holidays: Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day (Dec. 25), and New Year's Day
(Jan. 1). All other holidays will not affect your collection schedule.
Weekday holidays will delay collection by one day for the remainder of the week. For example, if a
holiday falls on a Thursday, Thursday customers will be collected on Friday and Friday customers
will be collected on Saturday.
WM offers carry out service at no charge for disabled customers. Carry out service is a
service where the driver will roll carts down to the street or end of your driveway on
service day and then returns them to the original location.
To qualify for no charge carry out service, the customer must be unable to move garbage,
recycling or yard waste carts to the curb because of a health condition and live with no
other person that can take the carts to the curb. The customer must provide a copy of
their disabled parking permit or a doctor's note to verify disability.
