Cart return trip (pickup same or following day if cart is not out on time) $19.13 each

NOTE:
  • Rates above are monthly. However, invoices are mailed every three months, so charges on invoices are for three months service.

  • Rates do not include city, county or state taxes.

    • These taxes and fees apply on invoices:

    • County Hazardous Waste Program fee is collected by King County from solid waste accounts, transfer station use, and sewer utilities. Funds provide hazardous waste drop-offs and outreach promoting less toxic and safer alternatives.

    • Refuse Tax is collected by Washington State on the collection, transfer, or disposal of solid waste. Funds provide financial assistance to local governments for repair and maintenance of public works projects.

    • Utility Tax is collected by the City of Federal Way on garbage, recycling, and yard waste services. Funds go to the General Fund (Police, Parks, Court, etc.) and general streets operations and maintenance.

  • The City of Federal Way uses State and County grant funding to support residential recycling outreach, recycling drop-off events, shredding events, repair events, and Green Living Workshops.

The value of materials recycled will be credited back on garbage bills.

* In 2024, residential customers receive a $1.50 rebate per account per month. This will change annually based on the quality and amount of materials recycled by all of Federal Way.
